Structural Engineer (Transportation)

In this role, you will perform the following responsibilities: Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques. Work on bridge projects (steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, box culvert, and interchange design for highway projects) and/or transit projects (elevated and/or underground stations and line structures). Select standard engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, and perform structural load calculations; assist with geometric layout and quantity development. Review, assign work, and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs. Interface with clients depending on the role on the project. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Structural Engineering. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in structural design. Preference is given to local candidates. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position (e.g., Professional Engineer – PE or P.Eng). Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee‑owned culture is a must.
