Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
This registered nurse position in the Labor and Delivery specialty requires providing comprehensive patient care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The role involves collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective maternal and neonatal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal conditions throughout labor and delivery.
• Administer medications, including anesthetics and analgesics, as prescribed.
• Assist in performing obstetric procedures and emergency interventions.
• Document patient status, interventions, and progress accurately within medical records.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care, recovery, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Demonstrated proficiency in obstetric assessment and emergency response.
• Ability to work night shifts (including 4x12 hour shifts).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to comply with facility drug screening policies and travel compliance requirements.
