About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Risk Management in Life Insurance. This strategic leadership role is pivotal in defining and modernizing the risk management framework to support innovation while ensuring the safety and soundness of the life insurance business. The successful candidate will lead key risk functions, including risk programs, operational risk management, and model risk management, with a focus on establishing governance for AI models, data quality, and emerging technology risks. The role demands a seasoned life insurance risk executive with deep expertise in the industry, particularly in product, actuarial, capital, reserve, investment, liquidity, operational, and regulatory risks. The Executive Director will be responsible for simplifying and tailoring the risk framework, engaging in senior leaders' strategy discussions, and influencing enterprise-wide priorities. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of related business/risk experience, with a strong background in enterprise-wide risk management and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams. The role requires significant knowledge of risk frameworks, the ability to influence at senior levels, and a deep understanding of the life insurance regulatory environment. The ideal candidate will have a history of modernizing and transforming risk management programs, with a focus on reducing complexity and improving operating efficiency. Strategic leadership, executive influence, and the ability to translate complex risk concepts into actionable business insights are essential. The Executive Director will also be expected to partner across risk management, finance, and the business to ensure that all risks are appropriately addressed and to drive key decisions that assess risk and reward.
