Lead Software Engineer - AWS & Terraform

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of applied experience.
• We need hands-on experience delivering end-to-end solutions across system design, application development, testing, and production stability.
• We look for advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Python.
• We require practical cloud-native engineering experience, including designing and operating workloads on AWS.
• We need strong AWS compute expertise, including EC2, ECS/EKS, and/or Lambda, with an emphasis on performance, resilience, and cost awareness.
• We require solid AWS networking knowledge, including VPC, subnets, security groups, NACLs, Route 53, and load balancers, to design secure and resilient architectures.
• We look for experience with AWS storage and data platforms such as S3, EBS, EFS, and databases including RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB where applicable.
• We require proven Infrastructure-as-Code skills with Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state and locking, and workspace or environment best practices.
• We need strong automation and delivery capability, including CI/CD pipeline design, Terraform integration, automated validation and testing, and scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• We look for demonstrated experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We require a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
• Preferred: experience with modern front-end technologies.
• Preferred: experience working in financial services.

• We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation for recurring issues to improve the stability of software applications and systems.
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within existing systems and information architecture.
• We lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to increase awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.
• We contribute to a team culture grounded in diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
• We drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes while maintaining validation standards and encouraging reuse of effective patterns.
• We apply knowledge of software development life cycle tooling, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered by automation.
