Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a position on a medical surgical floor in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing direct patient care within a 25-bed unit specializing in Urology and Nephrology. The RN will deliver care to adult patients, performing various clinical procedures and utilizing hospital systems to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift from 0645 to 1915, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois RN license, active BLS certification, and a minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience, including telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response skills. Experience with genitourinary/renal cases, IV therapy, blood product management, and respiratory procedures is required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level I experience and proficiency with Cerner charting system. Previous hospital experience in acute care settings is preferred.
• Additional Information: The RN must be comfortable floating within scope to other medical surgical units and work every other weekend. RTO requests should be limited to no more than 5 days. The unit handles a variety of diagnoses, including kidney transplants, urological surgeries, and common medical conditions such as UTI and pneumonia. Must arrive with all required certifications and an active Illinois license in hand. Orientation includes 32 hours of training, with virtual at-home day one.
