About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Legal Officer to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the firm's leadership, responsible for the overall risk management and compliance. This role involves overseeing a team of attorneys and providing strategic guidance on a wide range of legal matters, including business decisions, compliance programs, and the protection of firm assets. The Chief Legal Officer will also be adept at managing legal regulatory risks, advising on the development of firm policies, and ensuring the firm's compliance with professional conduct and bar regulations across jurisdictions. Applicants must have a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, with a minimum of 20 years' of relevant experience, and be an active member in good standing with the state bar. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business and commercial law, with a preference for those who have worked in a professional services industry. The role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and judgment skills, as well as a proven ability to provide strategic legal counsel in a large, complex organization. The Chief Legal Officer will also be responsible for managing relationships with outside counsel, opposing counsel, and regulatory bodies, and must be adept at defining processes and implementing governance to support the firm's legal and compliance functions.
