Assistant Branch Manager

Position Purpose The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) at SRS Distribution supports the Branch Manager to achieve excellence in branch operations, financial performance, and customer satisfaction. The role focuses on operational leadership, financial insight, team development, and relationship management to drive revenue growth and sustain long‑term success. Key Responsibilities Support the Branch Manager in implementing company standards, optimizing warehouse and branch operations, and driving initiatives that enhance productivity and efficiency. Assist in achieving branch revenue and profitability targets by monitoring financial metrics, executing sales strategies, and identifying opportunities for sales growth. Lead, mentor, and develop branch staff, including warehouse personnel, drivers, and inside sales teams; provide training, performance feedback, and foster a collaborative, high‑performing workplace. Build and maintain strong customer relationships, proactively addressing inquiries and resolving issues to ensure high levels of satisfaction and retention. Collaborate with the Branch Manager to develop and execute strategic plans, leveraging market and operational insights to drive branch growth and operational excellence. Generate and review branch performance reports—including financial results, staffing forecasts, inventory levels, and customer satisfaction metrics—and provide actionable insights for decision‑making. Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures; maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse and branch environment. Direct Reports Supervise warehouse and operations staff, including drivers and inside sales support. Guide, assign, and train personnel to execute branch operations efficiently. Travel & Physical Requirements Up to 25% travel to regional meetings, customer worksites, and branch locations. The ABM must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 75 pounds; use standard office equipment, display effective verbal and written communication, and perform repetitive tasks with accuracy. Minimum Qualifications 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or supervisory/assistant management role (preferred in building materials, roofing, or related industry). Demonstrated ability to manage teams, oversee operations, and execute processes efficiently. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems preferred. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Passness of criminal background and pre‑employment drug screening. Preferred Qualifications Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and revenue optimization. Project management skills, including prioritizing tasks and managing multiple initiatives. Leadership development experience and succession planning capabilities. Strong relationship management skills focused on retention and satisfaction. Knowledge of operational and warehouse safety protocols. Certifications OSHA 30‑hour certification (preferred). Forklift certification (preferred). Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain, or related field considered beneficial but not required. Salary & Benefits Base salary typically falls within the range of $76,000.00 to $98,800.00 annually, subject to location, education, training, and experience.
