Interviewing Clerk - ESS Program Customer Contact Center

This posting will be used to fill position vacancies in both Career Service and Other Personal Service (OPS). Multiple positions available. Locations will be based on availability in Miami and Tampa, Florida. Preference for Bilingual in Spanish/English or Creole/English.

The primary function of this position is providing clerical services related to government assistance eligibility in a contact center environment. This career consists primarily of phone interactions with customers and utilizing multiple computer systems. The work performed includes explaining eligibility of applicants and recipients of government assistance programs, determining eligibility for expedited Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) services, entering client data into a database based on intake of caller information, maintaining necessary files and records.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have two (2) years of experience in clerical activities or public contact experience. Candidates must have the ability to attend a two to four-week mandatory paid training course.

Preferred Qualifications: At least six (6) months of experience working in the ESS program. Bilingual in Spanish/English or Creole/English skills.

The full-time work schedule is 40 hours per week, 8:00 am 5:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday.

This position is designated as an essential position. Incumbents are expected to work during emergency situations or natural disasters and may be required to work before, during and beyond normal work hours/days.
