The Payroll Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting a small payroll team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of regular employee payroll as well as contractor and freelancer payments. This position involves managing payroll data entry, maintaining records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting with audits. The Payroll Assistant also supports system maintenance and collaborates closely with HR systems to streamline payroll operations.

Responsibilities

• Process regular payroll for employees, contractors, and freelancers
• Perform accurate payroll data entry and maintain detailed records
• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and internal policies
• Prepare and generate payroll reports for management review
• Track and manage employee timekeeping data
• Provide employee support related to payroll inquiries
• Assist in payroll audits and reconciliation processes
• Maintain and update payroll systems integrated with HR platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in payroll processing
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency with payroll software and integration with HR systems
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
• Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy
• Effective time management and communication skills
• Problem-solving aptitude in payroll-related issues
