Position Overview

The Accounts Receivable Technician is responsible for managing the company's incoming payments by ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, processing customer payments, monitoring outstanding accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role is essential to supporting healthy cash flow, ensuring the accuracy of accounts receivable transactions, and fostering positive customer relationships through professional communication and effective problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices in a timely manner
• Verify billing information, including pricing, payment terms, and customer account details
• Manage recurring billing schedules and update customer records as needed
• Record and apply customer payments, including checks, ACH transfers, wire transfers, and credit card payments
• Monitor and reconcile daily payment activity with accounting records
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies in a timely manner
• Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate accounts receivable aging reports
• Research and resolve discrepancies between invoices and payments
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure the accuracy of financial records and reporting
• Monitor outstanding customer balances and follow up on overdue accounts
• Enforce company credit policies and collection procedures
• Communicate with customers to resolve billing issues and negotiate payment arrangements when appropriate
• Build and maintain positive, professional customer relationships
• Prepare accounts receivable reports, including aging schedules and collections status reports
• Maintain organized and accurate records of invoices, payments, and customer correspondence
• Assist with audit requests and compliance documentation as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts receivable processes and workflows
• Support the implementation of automation tools and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Stay informed on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to accounts receivable
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Experience with account reconciliation and financial reporting is highly desirable
• Proficiency in accounting software is essential
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong communication skills
• Experience working within ERP systems (COINS preferred)
• Understanding of accounting principles

Compensation

• The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
