BUILDING INSPECTOR (RCS)

DESCRIPTION Under direction, review plans forcompleteness and compliance with the Uniform Construction Code of the State ofNew Jersey. Make inspections, as required, toensure compliance with all applicable codes. REQUIREMENTS Possession of a valid RCSBuilding Inspector License as defined in the Uniform Construction Code of theState of New Jersey per applicable code. Valid New Jersey Statedriver's license. Considerable knowledgeof the Uniform Construction Code and of approved methods of inspection. Ability to coordinatework schedule with inspectors and all concerned personnel. Ability to read, write,speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the dutiesof the position. Communication may include such forms as American SignLanguage or Braille. Ability to prepareclear, sound, accurate and information reports containing findings, conclusionsand recommendations. Ability to meet withpeople and deal effectively with their problems. Considerable knowledgeof the NJ Uniform Construction Code and its adopted Subcodes, and all otherstate and local regulations as may apply. Ability to establish andmaintain needed records and files. Ability to learn toutilize various types of electronic information systems used by the agency,office, or related units.
