Diesel Technician

Hub Truck Rental, a leading truck leasing and rental company, celebrating more than 65 years in business, is seeking a diesel mechanic in our Newark, NJ location. What You’ll Do Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services Maintain work area appearance and safety Perform diesel repairs, service & diagnostics Servicing customers Drive to Road calls Maintain certifications and seek further training classes and ASE certifications Prior diesel mechanic experience CDL Class B – driving throughout Long Island Diagnose malfunctions to ensure proper operation Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner Inspect trucks to ensure they are in proper working condition Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose Repair and troubleshoot major components such as engine, transmission, and differentials Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards What We’re Looking For 3+ years of automotive or diesel mechanic experience (preferred) High school diploma or equivalent Diesel Mechanic / Technician training not required but is a plus A valid driver’s license is required CDL a plus Union Shop exposure a plus Ability to communicate professionally with customers and co-workers Benefits Generous time off policy and excellent benefits package. #J-18808-Ljbffr NationaLease
