Unity Productions Foundation (UPF) is a nonprofit organization producing documentary films and educational outreach programs that promote peace, understanding, and cross-cultural dialogue. Our work focuses on Muslim-American stories, interfaith engagement, and social impact storytelling.
Position Overview
UPF is seeking a Senior Major Gifts Officer to lead and grow its fundraising and donor development efforts, with a focus on major gifts, donor cultivation, and philanthropic engagement within American Muslim communities.
This role is ideal for an experienced nonprofit fundraising professional with a strong background in major gifts fundraising, donor relationships, and revenue generation, who can independently drive results while collaborating with leadership.
The Senior Major Gifts Officer will play a key role in expanding UPF’s major donor pipeline, fundraising strategy, and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Major Gifts Fundraising & Strategy
- Develop and implement a major gifts fundraising strategy targeting individual donors and philanthropic networks
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit major donors and high-net-worth individuals
- Build and manage a robust donor pipeline and fundraising portfolio
Donor Development & Stewardship
- Cultivate long-term relationships with major donors, prospects, and philanthropic partners
- Conduct donor meetings, presentations, and fundraising appeals
- Lead and support donor cultivation events, briefings, and community engagement activities
Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with executive leadership on fundraising strategy, messaging, and donor communications
- Track and report on fundraising performance, donor engagement, and pipeline activity
- Maintain accurate donor records using CRM systems and ensure strong stewardship practices
Qualifications
Required
- Demonstrated success raising at least $500,000 annually, or comparable experience managing major donor portfolios and securing significant gifts
- 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, major gifts, or development roles
- Strong network within Muslim communities and/or experience in faith-based or community-based fundraising
- Proven ability to cultivate, solicit, and close major gifts
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills
Preferred
- Experience in media, education, or nonprofit organizations
- Experience planning and executing fundraising events or donor engagement campaigns
- Familiarity with donor CRM systems (e.g. Donor Perfect or similar)
