Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele FloatThis role is for an ED Holding Support position located within a fast-paced float pool. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for caring for patients in the ED Holding unit, which includes individuals awaiting inpatient beds with various medical and surgical diagnoses, as well as PCU level patients. The position requires flexibility to float between ED and Med-Surg areas as necessary.Shift DetailsShift: 12 hours from 18:45 to 07:15Contracts of 36 and 48 hours are availableLonger contracts accepted through 02/27/2027Every other weekend is requiredMust be available to work on holidaysRatio: MS/Tele 1:6-1:7; may also care for PCU patients at 1:3-1:47 days of RTO maximum per contractKey ResponsibilitiesProvide care to patients in the ED Holding unitManage and monitor patients awaiting inpatient admissionDeliver high-quality patient care in a mixed unit with high-acuity casesFloat to the Emergency Department and Med-Surg areas as neededParticipate in a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team, as requiredAdapt and respond to emergency situations and patient needsRequired QualificationsCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationNIHSS certification requiredPreferred: CPI certificationMinimum of 2 years of experience in MS/Tele and ED holdingTravel experience is mandatoryAbility to keep pace with a fast-paced unit and manage a patient ratio of 1:6-7Unit InformationThe ED Holding unit operates within the Emergency Department and is designated for patients waiting for inpatient beds. Care may involve a range of medical/surgical adult diagnoses, requiring adaptability and skill across various patient levels, including MS/Tele and PCU.Equipment and SystemsStandard medical equipment including cardiac monitors and IV pumpsMedication and documentation systems: Pyxis, Epic, and SBAROrientationA comprehensive unit orientation of 12 hours will be provided to ensure familiarity with unit protocols and equipment.Dress CodeScrubs are to be navy in color.Additional NotesMust pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialtyDue to the high turnover rate, all candidates will be interviewedLocal candidates will be accepted at the local rate
