Experienced Carpenter

Job Duties

As an Experienced Carpenter, you will work alongside a skilled construction team to build and remodel high-quality custom homes from start to finish. This position requires strong construction experience, deep knowledge of building practices, and the ability to perform all phases of carpentry safely, efficiently, and with exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform framing, siding, trim, finish carpentry, and general construction.

• Construct, erect, install, and repair residential structures and building components.

• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, drawings, and project specifications.

• Install doors, windows, cabinetry, millwork, moldings, and other finish materials.

• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.

• Inspect work throughout construction to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications and building codes.

• Follow all company safety policies and participate in required safety meetings.

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.

• Properly store, stack, and protect building materials from weather and damage.

• Perform basic maintenance and proper care of company tools and equipment.

• Collaborate effectively with Project Managers, subcontractors, and fellow team members to meet daily and weekly project goals.

• Represent Northland Construction professionally while delivering outstanding craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and regularly lift 25 pounds.

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold.

• Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, roofs, and other elevated work surfaces.

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work on uneven terrain throughout the workday.

• Ability to safely work around power tools, machinery, construction equipment, and typical job-site conditions.

Schedule:

• 10 hour day shifts, Mon- Thurs

• Occasional overtime and Friday work (optional)

• No weekends

Minimum Education Required

Highschool Diploma or GED

Minimum Experience Required

• 5+ years of residential carpentry experience.

• Custom home experience preferred but not required.

• Experience with framing, siding, finish carpentry, and remodeling.

• Thorough knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and building practices.

• Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.

• Proficiency with standard hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and construction equipment.

• Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.

• Valid driver’s license with dependable transportation.

• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace.
