Certified Autotransfusionist/ Perfusion Assistant/clinical autotransfusionist , VA Medical Center, Gainesville, FL

D’Lylah LLC is an SBA-Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). We provide healthcare services to the Department of Veterans Affairs. We are hiring a Certified Autotransfusionist to support surgical blood management for veterans at a VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida.

This position is contingent upon contract award. It is a long-term role: a base year plus up to four option years. The anticipated start is January 2027, following VA credentialing.

What You’ll Do

Check the OR schedule daily for cases requiring autotransfusion
Set up and operate the autotransfusion (cell saver) pump for non-open-heart surgical procedures
Record surgical time and the volume of autotransfused blood delivered to Anesthesiology for each case
Break down disposables after each procedure
Keep at least four complete supply sets ready for open heart and autotransfusion cases, and notify Logistics of supply needs
Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair for VA-owned perfusion equipment, and keep service records

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week, 2,080 hours/year)

What You Bring

Current Autotransfusionist certification, with continuing education up to date
10+ years of autotransfusion experience
Individual NPI number and current BLS
Fluent written and spoken English
Ability to pass:
– VA credentialing
– a federal background investigation
– E-Verify
– OIG exclusion screening
Proof of immunizations: TB, MMR, varicella, Tdap, annual flu, and Hepatitis B
ABCP certification is a plus
