Role SummaryWe are looking for an experienced and technically strong Software Engineer to lead the design and development of system-level / desktop applications for semiconductor equipment control software. The role demands deep technical expertise, full ownership of critical components, and the ability to drive complex features across cross-functional teams while mentoring the next generation of engineers.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain high-performance desktop/system-level applications in Core JavaOwn end-to-end delivery of features: requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, and releaseDrive architecture decisions, design reviews, and technical direction for critical software componentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams - Systems, Hardware, QA, and Field Support for feature development and issue resolutionLead debugging, root cause analysis and resolution of complex issues including customer escalationsEnsure high code quality, scalability, and long-term maintainability of software componentsMentor junior engineers and actively contribute to team capability building and engineering best practicesSupport project planning, estimation, and execution tracking for development workProduce and review clear design documentation to ensure component maintainability and knowledge continuityMandatory skillsStrong hands-on experience in Core Java and/or C++ development (10+ years)Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID design principlesExpertise in system design, modular architecture, and proven design patternsHands-on experience in end-to-end software development lifecycle (design dev test release)Proficiency in multi-threaded programming, concurrency management, and performance optimizationStrong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills for complex technical challengesProven ability to handle production/customer escalations and deliver quality fixes under pressureAbility to drive technical discussions, design reviews, and cross-team alignmentExcellent verbal and written communication with strong stakeholder collaboration skillsWho we’re looking forMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics or Electrical Engineering, Instumentation Engineering with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years’ experience; or a PhD with 3+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.Preferred skillsExposure to semiconductor equipment manufacturing or embedded/machine control software domainExperience working on QNX / Linux-based systems or hardware interacting softwareFamiliarity with debugging complex field issues and supporting deployed production systemsExperience with tools: Jira, Git/SVN, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD practicesPrior involvement in RCCA processes, customer escalations, or field-driven defect resolutionExperience in mentoring engineers or leading small technical workstreamsOur commitmentWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
