Job Title

Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Location

Charleston, WV | Ambulatory / One Day Surgery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Shift start 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM; late shifts may be assigned to complete cases. On-call rotation required (weekday, weekend, and holiday). 30-minute call response time required.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate ambulatory surgery procedures across a 6-suite OR performing an average of 22 cases per day
• Perform ophthalmology procedures including cataracts and corneal transplants independently ; additional cases include scleral buckle, vitrectomy, minor general surgery, minor spine stabilization, spinal cord stimulators, ENT, and dental procedures
• Fulfill required on-call obligations: minimum of 1 weekday call shift per week, up to every other weekend of call, and rotating holiday call — all with a 30-minute response time
• May be required to float to other surgical departments as needed
• Follow unit-specific orientation with hospital orientation followed by department-level orientation in the One Day Surgery setting

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an OR/ORT nurse
• Must have experience in ophthalmology and be able to perform cataract and corneal procedures independently
• Must be able to both scrub and circulate ambulatory surgery procedures
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience across a broad range of surgical specialties including spine, ENT, and general surgery
• Comfort working in a high-volume OR environment with varied case types
• Ability to adapt to assigned scheduling without self-scheduling options
