Project Surveyor - Part-Time, As-Needed

OVERVIEW A Project Surveyor is responsible for the technical production of survey projects. The major objectives are the quality (accuracy, thoroughness, clarity and meeting regulatory requirements) of work, meeting schedules, staying within budgets and providing responsive service to the client. The role involves organizing technical production, directing field work, checking work for quality control and communicating with the project manager. This position provides vital flexible support to the Geomatics team. Operating on an "as needed" basis, the role requires a candidate who can step in seamlessly to complete project production and oversight. There are no guaranteed weekly hours; the schedule is determined based on department needs and the employee’s availability. DURING YOUR WORK DAY, YOU WILL: Be responsible for the technical and professional production of survey projects. Work with primary objectives: quality (accuracy, thoroughness, clarity and meeting regulatory requirements) of work, meeting schedules, staying within budgets and providing responsive service to clients. Organize technical production, direct field work, check work for quality control, and communicate with others. Coordinate the production to cover all details so that quality is present, and budgets and schedules are met. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: A bachelor’s degree in Surveying preferred and/or equivalent work experience. Delaware Professional Land Surveying License required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Geomatics. AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred. Good technical skills. Behavioral traits such as being process-oriented, steady, helpful, analytical, a problem solver, methodical, consistent, detail-oriented, precise, and having a high tolerance for mistakes. Must be able to work and communicate with field crews and CAD technicians. Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle record, a cleared criminal background check, and drug test.
