Project Engineer

Project EngineerThe Project Engineer assists and supports the Project Manager on assigned projects. The position works under direct supervision, performs routine daily activities, gathers, and distributes information. The Project Engineer must be a flexible and adaptable team player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.Project Engineer Major Duties & Responsibilities:Coordinates with project architects, designers, owners, and field personnel.Responsible for preparing, reviewing, distributing, and tracking Request for Information (RFI) and Submittal packages.Assist in preparations of bid packages and procurementMay be responsible for bid analysis, constructability reviews, and permit processing.Inspects all work to assure compliance with plans and specifications.Offers technical information to project supervisor to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.General understanding of project budget; may assist with buyoutsMonitor and track project quality control metrics and activities on a regular basis, provide timely and accurate quality reports, and raise issues to PM or Superintendent as appropriate.Change Order management, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing action and change ordersMaintain accurate contract documentsGeneration of project punch list and closeout documentation.Update construction schedule based on project team input, Trade Contractor progress and materials deliveryTrack and inspect material deliveriesAssist in preparation of monthly owner project status reports, as requiredAttend project meetings, as directed by Project Manager and record meeting minutesDemonstrate commitment to an Injury-free environment through own actions and mentoring othersAssist Senior Project ManagerOther duties assignedProject Engineer Qualifications:Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.Demonstrated expertise (either through internships or work experience) in commercial projects (i.e. tenant improvements, multi-family and multi-use, corporate and institutional structures)Excellent communications skills required for interaction with vendors, designers, consultants, and clients.MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) AutoCAD, Revit, Blue BeamMinimum of 5 years of experience in construction project managementStrong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulationsExcellent communication and leadership skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyProficiency in project management software and toolsProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferredExperience in managing large-scale construction projectsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and construction plansKnowledge of budgeting and financial managementExperience in managing and supervising construction teamsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsTime management skills and organizational skillsAbility to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all timesPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
