East West Bank gives people the confidence to reach further.OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic operation accounting team. This role requires a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a passion for data automation, and the ability to assess and communicate the accounting impact of new products and business initiatives.ResponsibilitiesPerform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations.Independently manage complex accounting tasks and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the accounting implications of new products, services, and business models.Monitor subledger systems and ensure accurate, timely integration with the general ledger.Design and implement automated solutions to streamline accounting workflows.Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.Maintain and improve internal controls and documentation.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a mid-to-large organization.Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and data automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power Query, Python) is a plus.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Experience with accounting subledger system implementation is highly desirable.Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
