As we transition from an agency model to an in-house team, this role will be central to building a more agile, content-first social operation that is fully integrated with production and editorial.The Social Media Manager will manage and grow social accounts across This Old House, Ask This Old House, and related franchises, ensuring a consistent and engaging brand presence across platforms. This person will be responsible for creating and publishing content, managing calendars, coordinating shoots, and turning production moments into high-performing social content.The ideal candidate is a strong operator who understands what performs on social, can execute quickly, and is comfortable managing multiple accounts while working closely with producers, editors, and marketing teams. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable behind a content calendar and on set capturing social-first moments.The estimated annual base salary for this position is between $110,000 and $117,000 with additional equity. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographic location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.This role will be in office Monday - Thursday with the option to work from home on Friday.What You'll Be DoingDrive social media ideation and execution with the goal of growing audience, engagement, and video views across platformsCreate and publish social content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and emerging platformsManage and maintain the social calendar, including planning, scheduling, and optimizing posts across multiple brand and franchise accountsOversee ~40+ social accounts across brand, show, and talent profiles, ensuring consistency and organizationAttend pre-production calls, content meetings, and production days to identify and capture social-first content opportunitiesCoordinate and execute social content shoots, both with and without talent, in collaboration with production teamsManage and partner with an editor/content creator to produce short-form video and platform-specific contentOptimize content for each platform based on format, trends, and performance insightsSupport promotion of affiliate and commerce content across social channelsPartner with marketing on paid social campaigns, including boosting and performance optimizationAlign organic and paid efforts to maximize reach, engagement, and trafficMonitor comments, DMs, and audience engagement, and support day-to-day community managementTrack and report on key social metrics including growth, engagement, video performance, and trafficUse data and insights to continuously refine content and improve performanceCollaborate cross-functionally with production, editorial, marketing, and ad sales teams to support launches, campaigns, and ongoing programmingWe're Excited If You Have5+ years of experience in social media marketing, content creation, or digital mediaStrong understanding of short-form video, platform-specific storytelling, and what drives performance on socialExperience working in content-driven environments, ideally within media, entertainment, or productionExperience supporting social campaigns, including working with content partners or influencersStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows, calendars, and deadlinesComfortable working in fast-paced, production-driven environments and adapting quickly to changing prioritiesData-driven mindset with experience using analytics to inform decisions and optimize performanceFamiliarity with paid social, including ad setup, execution, and basic optimizationStrong communication skills with a clear, concise writing styleHigh level of judgment, attention to detail, and understanding of social media best practices and ethicsSelf-starter who can independently manage priorities while proactively identifying new opportunitiesCollaborative, positive team player who works effectively across functionsComfortable with social and analytics tools such as Sprout, native platform insights, Google Analytics, and similar platformsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience
