Senior Project Engineer

Senior Project Engineer Direct engineering planning, technical evaluations, and site assessments to support development projects and ensure regulatory compliance. Develop project engineering objectives and requirements by reviewing project proposals and plans and consult with management and engineering leadership regarding specifications and project details, including advising on structural feasibility, risk, and compliance considerations. Work with senior engineers and project managers to evaluate potential complications with projects and recommend solutions for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Review and analyze engineering drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and design specifications with site, safety, and development problems prior to initiating construction and recommend corrective or alternative design approaches where necessary using engineering design software such as CAD. Lead field assessments of ongoing development projects such as reconnaissance surveys, drilling activities monitoring, field testing for percolation, monometer surveys, and photo documentation. Oversee geotechnical investigations based on project blueprints and specifications and standard testing specifications. Analyze soil samples from structurally significant points on the engineering building plans and confer with geotechnical engineers to review the results of a variety of tests including soil moisture content, Atterberg limits, specific gravity, dry density, compaction. Review seismic risk reports for the project topography based on its soil content. Manage the budget of projects with respect to the design, materials, and workmanship needed for accomplishing the projects. Coordinate with local inspectors and plan checkers to receive all the required city approvals throughout the projects. Ensure safe and clean working environments by creating procedures, rules, and regulations. Supervises two (2) Project Engineers, two (2) Staff Engineers, and one (1) CADD Drafter. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field Three years of experience in the job offered or a related position Skills and knowledge in CAD, Construction Quality Management, Construction Cost Estimating, and Building Code Compliance Little travel, 24% of work time, several days but less than 60 days per year throughout the U.S. 40 hours/week.
