We're seeking a Senior Project Engineer with expertise in Land Development Civil Infrastructure to support our Newport Beach office. This role is ideal for a California licensed P.E. with years of experience who enjoys leading technical delivery, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating directly with clients. You'll work closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver site development projects, including grading, drainage, underground utilities, and grade separations - helping to shape and build across the West Coast.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and delivery of land development projects, including site layout, grading, drainage systems, underground utilities, and grade separations
- Organize project workflows, establish design criteria, and delegate tasks to junior staff
- Make decisions on specific project elements and consult with senior leadership on complex or critical issues
- Support QA/QC implementation and identify out-of-scope services
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across teams
- Assist in coordinating sub-consultant work and ensure cohesive project execution
- Attend project meetings and represent BKF as a secondary point-of-contact
- Contribute to proposal development and cross-sell BKF's services to regional clients
- Manage assigned project elements within established budgets and timelines
