Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Orthopedic/Med-Surg Unit – North Carolina

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Contract length up to February 27, 2027 to support through the holiday season.

Highlights:

• Fast-paced orthopedic and neuro spine unit with post-surgical patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5-6:1, with occasional flex to 7:1 in extreme cases
• Epic EMR system utilized facility-wide
• No on-call requirement; floating to other med-surg units may be required based on census
• Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Comprehensive orientation with 36 hours of onsite training

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with orthopedic experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers with Epic experience will be considered
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• IV start and telemetry skills required; must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Experience with blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, pain management protocols (PCA), isolation precautions, total joint replacement, and surgical drain care
• Charge nurse experience and Level I trauma experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

• 39-bed unit with average daily census of 37 patients
• Patient population includes orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical diagnoses
