Director Of Business Development

At Datum Engineers, great projects begin with great relationships.We're seeking a Business Development Director to help expand Datum's presence in the markets we serve by building and strengthening relationships with clients, owners, architects, contractors, and industry partners. This person will identify opportunities, position Datum on pursuit teams, support proposal efforts, and help our engineers grow as effective seller-doers.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting people, opening doors, and creating opportunities long before a project is awarded.What You'll DoBuild and maintain relationships with architects, owners, contractors, developers, and other industry partnersRepresent Datum at industry organizations, conferences, and networking eventsIdentify and research future project opportunities and market trendsPosition Datum as a valued member of project teams and strategic pursuitsCoordinate business development activities across offices and practice areasPartner with technical staff to develop proposals, qualifications packages, scopes, and fee estimatesLead the firm's response to RFQs and RFPsFacilitate communication and information sharing among Principals and project leadersDevelop client feedback and satisfaction initiativesCoach and mentor engineers and other technical professionals in relationship-building and business developmentWhat Success Looks LikeThe successful candidate will:Develop trusted relationships across the AEC industryIncrease Datum's visibility with architects, owners, and strategic partnersHelp create opportunities to be included on more project teamsStrengthen client relationships and repeat business opportunitiesSupport the development of a firmwide business development cultureWhat Makes This Role UniqueThis is not a traditional sales position.Success in this role comes from building trust, developing relationships, understanding clients' needs, and helping position Datum as a valued partner on project teams.
