Responsibilities
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support cash management activities, banking transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies.
- Research accounting issues, analyze variances, and recommend solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and help strengthen internal controls.
- Provide backup support to members of the accounting team and assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1+ years of accounting experience; experience within financial services, banking, or a corporate accounting environment is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and manipulate large data sets.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred.
- Exposure to reporting or data automation tools such as Power Query, Alteryx, or Python is a plus.
