About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director, Global Program Team Lead with a strong background in drug development to provide strategic direction and lead global drug development programs, particularly those with complex Phase III clinical development. The successful candidate will be the accountable program owner, leading the creation of integrated development plans, and ensuring the team's commitments are met. This leadership role requires a proactive and interactive approach, with an emphasis on partnership and the ability to stimulate creative and productive discussions. The Executive Director will be responsible for program ownership, strategic direction, and leadership of global development programs, and must have a proven track record in leading drug development projects within a matrixed, global organization. Applicants for the Executive Director, Global Program Team Lead position at the company should have an advanced life-science degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with a specialty in the assigned therapeutic area, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 10 years' in drug development, including experience in more than one IND/IMPS, BLA/NDA/MAA, and a strong background in multidisciplinary program management, is required. The role demands a leader with excellent negotiation, persuasion, and communication skills, who can influence local and global regulatory, scientific, and commercial environments. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the various disciplines involved in drug development, including CMC, pharmacology, toxicology, PK, and clinical requirements, and experience in leading the preparation of milestone meetings with regulatory agencies. The Executive Director will be expected to have a broad understanding of the business, be tenacious in the face of setbacks, and have a style that builds alliances both locally and globally.
