Visit us at Job Overview The M ZB Resource Planning Department of the P Operations Planning & Construction Management Division at Hawaiian Electric Company is seeking a Resource Planner I (Professional). This role focuses on providing technical and analytical support to the Transmission & Distribution Operations division, particularly in evaluating contractor invoices, managing SAP databases and field inspections, and ensuring efficient crew scheduling. Job Function Provides technical and analytical support for contractor invoice evaluation, SAP database and field inspection management, TECO work order completion, and maximizes T&D crew daily schedules with compliance to safety, regulatory, and legal requirements. Essential Functions Plans, schedules, and coordinates customer service installations, maintaining and updating the schedule to ensure timely completion. Collaborates with multiple internal and external parties to ensure safe and efficient work completion. Manages the end‑to‑end Service Entry Sheet process for resource planners, aligning contractor payments with Finance and Business Close standards and partnering cross‑functionally with Purchasing and Resource Planning. Ensures timely and accurate closure of field work orders in SAP, validating completed activities, resolving data discrepancies, and coordinating with field personnel and other departments for invoicing and financial closure. Develops and maintains data reporting systems and dashboards across platforms (e.g., T&D Packages SharePoint and SAP), analyzing and tracking field inspection data to generate actionable performance insights. Leverages data analytics to assess job performance trends (scheduled, completed, and cancelled) to drive operational efficiency and cost reduction, and presents cost studies and performance dashboards. Participates in company emergency response activities as assigned, including preparation for such responses. Basic Qualifications Knowledge Requirements Thorough knowledge of business office procedures and methods for a medium‑size organization. Experience in construction or related industry. Basic knowledge of electrical utility or similar industry. Familiarity with or willingness to learn construction drawings and standards. Basic knowledge of best practices in planning, scheduling, and coordinating work across multiple areas. Familiarity with applicable state and federal regulations, permits, laws, and codes. Knowledge of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance processes, inventory control, and safety regulations. Basic knowledge of estimating, planning, or scheduling construction, maintenance, or operations activities. Working knowledge of personal computers and related software applications such as spreadsheets and word processing. Working knowledge of electrical utility transmission and distribution system facilities and equipment, acceptable work practices, and safety requirements. Skills Requirements Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with a variety of individuals. Strong organizational and administrative skills, with experience leading work projects or elements of projects. Demonstrated strong communication and organizational skills to support internal teams and external clients with timely, accurate information. Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills. Demonstrated accountability by owning decisions and actions, proactively correcting mistakes, and maintaining trustworthiness. Works independently and manages tasks proactively with little or no supervisory oversight. Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills, including handling sensitive or confrontational situations. Ability to create and conduct effective presentations and reports using office equipment and software applications. Ability to remain flexible in a demanding work environment and adapt to rapidly changing priorities. MUST have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver’s license and meet the standards for driving positions as stated in the hiring policy. Ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive matters and materials discreetly and professionally. Experience Requirements Several years (3‑5) of general administrative support, preferably with scheduling, data entry, and MS Office. Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software such as SAP PM or Maximo. A few years (1‑3) of experience in a maintenance or facilities management organization. A few years (2+) of experience in estimating, planning, or scheduling construction, maintenance, or operations activities, preferably related to utility facilities. Experience in project management. A two‑year degree in Business Administration, Industrial Technology, or a similar field may substitute up to 2 years of experience.
