Job Cost Accountant | Aldridge Electric The Tone: This is a full-time role at Aldridge Electric. Aldridge Electric builds energy and transportation infrastructure projects, serving as a crucial partner in keeping the world moving and connected. This role ensures the integrity of financial data by managing the full lifecycle of cost codes, setting up new projects, and maintaining accurate budget and change order records in the accounting system, which is vital for project success and financial health. The TL;DR Role: Early Career Type: Full-time Pay: $70000–$90000 yearly Mission: Ensure the integrity of financial data by managing the full life cycle of cost codes, setting up new projects, and maintaining accurate budget and changing order records. Tech Stack: MS Excel, CMiC What You'll Actually Do Cost Code Management: Open, maintain, and close specific cost codes across active projects to ensure accurate tracking of labor, materials, and equipment. Charge Transfers: Review and process transfers of incorrect charges (journal entries) to ensure costs are applied to the correct codes and projects. Project Setup: Initiate and update new projects in the company’s ERP system based on contract awards, ensuring alignment with relevant teams. Data Integrity: Monitor cost distributions, identify variances, and flag misallocated expenses for project management review. Backup Support: Provide assistance with inputting contract modifications, change orders, and initial project budgets during peak periods. The Must-Haves Background: Entry-Level. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field is preferred; an associate's degree with relevant internship experience is also considered. Experience: 0–2 years of accounting experience. Prior internships or exposure to the construction or engineering industry is a significant advantage. Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Excel (including vlookup, formulas, and data sorting), a sharp eye for numbers and data entry accuracy, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
