Pay: $22.31 to $35.15 per hour DOE Temporary Opportunity in the Healthcare Field Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a temporary Human Resources / Office Assistant to support the Human Resources department of a healthcare organization in Yakima, WA. This assignment is expected to last up to two months and will provide administrative and clerical support to the HR team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of office experience, strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally. Previous Human Resources experience is a plus but is not required. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize employee personnel files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Accurately file and update employee documents in both paper and electronic records systems
- Serve as a resource during audits and surveys related to personnel file documentation
- Conduct employment reference checks using third party background screening platforms, electronic forms, and direct phone communication
- Document reference information accurately and maintain appropriate records
- Obtain and review routine criminal history background checks
- Coordinate fingerprinting and background screening processes as required
- Maintain employee driving authorization records and submit motor vehicle record requests in a timely manner
- Monitor driving records and notify employees and supervisors of changes in driving privileges
- Communicate with employees regarding driver's license renewals and proof of insurance requirements
- Enter and update employee credentials, licenses, certifications, and required documentation in electronic tracking systems
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
- Assist the HR team with clerical and administrative projects
- Answer phones, assist visitors, and provide general office support as needed
- Handle confidential personnel information with professionalism and discretion
- Minimum of 2 years of office, administrative, or clerical experience
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
- Professional demeanor and strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Experience working in Human Resources
- Experience maintaining personnel records and employee files
- Experience with background checks, credential tracking, or employee onboarding
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting
- Familiarity with compliance, auditing, or regulatory documentation
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Strong data entry and recordkeeping skills
- Ability to follow established procedures
