Job Description
Pediatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT)

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) for a contract position. This role involves providing essential care to pediatric patients with a variety of diagnoses and needs.

Job Responsibilities

Assist patients with basic activities of daily living (ADLs) including transfers, bathing, and personal hygiene.
Conduct patient care tasks such as turning, cleaning, and taking vital signs.
Support pediatric patients, including those with complex medical conditions such as TBI, SCI, spina bifida, and cerebral palsy.
Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and sit-to-stand machines.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care and recovery.
Follow protocols for infection control and safety measures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

Two years of experience in pediatric and acute care settings.
Current and active Maryland CNA license is required.
BLS certification is a must.
Experience with tracheostomy care, G-tubes, NG-tubes, and care for brain and spinal cord injury patients is highly preferred.
Ability to float and work within various units as needed.
Flexibility to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Working Conditions

Shift: Day (3x12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30).
Average daily census of patients: 12-14.
Patient-to-staff ratio of 1:6.
Patient age range: Pediatric to adolescents.

Additional Information

Scrub colors and patterns: any color, any pattern.
Floating within specialty and other units required.
