Sr. Design Engineer

Senior Design Engineer Overview Lead the design, development, and sustainment of centrifugal pumps and fluid handling systems. Serve as a technical leader driving product innovation, performance, manufacturability, and continuous improvement while collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and R&D teams. Key Responsibilities Lead product design from concept through production launch for centrifugal pumps and fluid power systems. Develop product architecture, performance requirements, and technical strategy. Perform hydraulic, fluid dynamics, and system-level analysis to optimize product performance and reliability. Support testing, validation, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations. Lead design reviews, approve engineering documentation, and drive NPD and VAVE initiatives. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams. Collaborate cross-functionally to support manufacturing, suppliers, quality, and customer requirements. Manage engineering projects to meet cost, quality, and schedule objectives. Qualifications BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology. 7+ years of engineering experience. 5+ years of centrifugal pump design experience with knowledge of hydraulic and electric motors. Strong understanding of rotating equipment, fluid power systems, and hydraulic performance. Experience with FEA, FMEA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design verification. Hands-on laboratory testing and validation experience. Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and Microsoft Office. Demonstrated technical leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
