We are expanding and looking for highly motivated and compasionate employees. From big dogs to pigmy goats to pocket pets, we here at Southern Hills Vet Hospital have been providing a family-like environment, fun atmosphere, and unparalleled care for our patients and team in the beautiful upstate hamlet of Tully. If you have a strong work ethic, excellent client communication skills, excel as a team player, a willingness to learn, and a love for all fuzzy critters great and small, then we are looking for YOU to join our team. The current opening is about 30-40 hrs/week, but applicant should have a flexible schedule when additional coverage is needed. There is no emergency coverage, overnights, weekends, or major holidays required. Licensed/experienced technicians and new grads/unlicensed technicians are encouraged to apply. Pay rate is $16.50-$21/hr depending on experience and credentials.
Here is an over-view of responsibilities and duties:
- Performs all duties in accordance with government regulations and hospital policies and procedures
- Assists in restraint of pet when necessary
- Prepares and maintains the exam rooms and treatment areas
- Providing general nursing care
- Examining animals and checking vitals in preparation for the Veterinarian
- Taking X-rays of patients
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with client communication
- Drawing blood samples for testing
- Monitoring animals under anesthesia
- Assisting with house calls and farm calls
- Performs other duties as determined by the doctor
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and practice management software
- Some receptionist duties intermittently when necessary.
