Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse (RN) position is available in Durango, Colorado. This role involves working night shifts in a highly specialized ICU environment that includes medical, surgical, cardiovascular, and trauma patient care. Candidates are required to bring their RN license on the first day of the assignment. The position requires familiarity with electronic medical records, specifically Epic, and the ability to titrate critical drips.

Job Details:

• Location: Durango, Colorado
• Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) including MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU, and similar units
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift
• Schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; the schedule is planned in advance for six weeks, with flexibility needed to fill gaps in permanent staffing
• Hours: Minimum of 36 hours per week, with 6-9 weekend shifts every six weeks
• Required Qualifications: RN license; Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS; at least 2 years ICU experience, with a preference for prior travel experience
• Additional Information:
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical records system
  • First-time travelers should have 3 or more years of ICU experience
  • The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts in a 13-week assignment or 3 shifts in shorter assignments
  • All time off requests must be submitted before the start of the assignment
  • May be asked to rotate into holiday shifts and float to different acuity levels, including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and Medical-Surgical Telemetry units, if needed
  • No telemonitor techs on the unit; RNs are expected to interpret their own telemetry strips
  • The unit uses vents, Cpap, Bipap, and high-flow oxygen devices
  • No nurse aides on the unit; respiratory therapists are on call 24/7 for respiratory support
