Director of Finance And Accounting

Our client is a well-established, company with a history spanning six generations. What began as a small operation has grown into one of the largest companies of its kind in the country. Today they operate under one umbrella with multiple private and family-owned companies, and they are known for having one of the largest and most experienced teams in their industry. The Director of Finance will help set financial policy and direction while also serving as an active, hands‑on participant in and driver of the organization’s overall strategy, financial administration, business planning, and budgeting. The Director of Finance is responsible for the oversight and, as needed, the direct participation in all finance, accounting, and reporting activities. This role leads day-to-day finance operations and holds functional responsibility over accounting, budgeting, cash flow and banking, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, asset management, and billing. The Director of Finance ensures the organization has the systems and procedures in place to support program implementations and conducts monthly in‑house financial and annual audits. What You\'ll Do: Perform account reconciliation and month‑end closing procedures in a timely manner, including significant asset depreciation schedules Assist in developing budgets and monitoring actual results against budget for management Prepare monthly and as‑needed balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, budgeting proformas, and other financial reporting as required Lead and manage internal and external audits Lead and manage day‑to‑day accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections, general ledger, asset management, and internal procedures and controls Interact and communicate effectively with executive management, staff, vendors, customers, and banking and lending relationships Required: At least 5+ years of accounting experience Experience with accounting software Experience with multi‑state payroll and accounting Legal, tax, insurance, and banking/lending experience or background a plus Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred but not required MMD Services Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
