AV Events Engineer

Overview The AV Events team’s goal is to create memorable experiences that inform, inspire, and excite employees and audiences (both internal and external). This role requires travel within the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and flexible hours. The AV Events Engineer will serve as the primary technical lead for live events, overseeing audio, video, lighting, networking, broadcast, and communications systems for internal and external venues. Responsibilities Own end-to-end technical production on our most complex, highest-profile events Manage AV vendors/contractors and coordinate crewing, production schedules, cue sheets, and more Set up, configure, and support technical equipment for internal and external event productions Conduct equipment maintenance, perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintain all technical equipment in the event space(s) Learn and implement new technologies, assuring successful outcomes Design, monitor, analyze, and solve issues regarding video, cameras, digital switchers, routers, servers, LED systems, automation, and routing Assist with AV research and develop project initiatives in partnership with other team members Maintain technical documentation and ensure it is up to date Maintain proper communication with internal and external partner groups Create and manage engineering documentation Step into an operator position as needed (particularly calling a show) Manage stakeholder relationships and pre‑production needs for events Crew AV resources for events with FTE, contractor, or vendor resources Own the technology support of Netflix’s onsite event production spaces Oversee the AV budget as it pertains to event costs What We’re Looking For Sustained experience leading technical production on large‑scale, high‑stakes events A natural cross‑functional collaborator who works well with demanding stakeholders such as Corporate Events, Internal Communications, Workplace, and E‑staff Proven ability to manage multiple programmes in parallel without compromising quality or stakeholder relationships A track record of building systems or workflows that created measurable savings in cost, time, or resource at scale Sufficient broadcast knowledge to lead decisions and sense‑check execution Genuine curiosity about AI in live events and during pre‑ and post‑production, with some hands‑on experience to back it up Experience managing vendors, integrators, and technical crews across the full lifecycle of complex programmes Composure and professionalism under pressure Familiarity with Bitfocus Companion, Vectorworks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools Comfort across MacOS, Windows, Chromebooks, and Google Workspace Ability to deliver post‑production VOD outputs Compensation and Benefits Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. The range for this role is $187,000.00 – $300,000.00.
