Applications Specialist

Job Details:

Responsibilities

• Interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and technical specifications to define system scope and requirements
• Develop accurate and timely technical quotations, submittals, and application documentation
• Evaluate system performance under normal and emergency power conditions, including egress and life safety requirements
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA 101, and IBC
• Assess compatibility and application of emergency lighting inverters, transfer devices, and related equipment
• Identify design gaps, conflicts, and potential compliance risks in project documentation
• Provide technical support on system behavior, application requirements, and product selection
• Collaborate with engineering, sales teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to validate system designs
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of application-level technical issues
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure alignment with project and customer requirements

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in electrical applications, technical support, or system design
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuitry, and power distribution principles
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 101, and IBC codes
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with emergency lighting systems, inverter-based systems, or transfer devices
• Familiarity with UL 924 and UL 1008 standards
• Knowledge of commercial lighting control systems and behavior
• Experience supporting engineers, contractors, distributors, or technical sales teams
• Familiarity with CRM or ERP systems (SAP preferred)
