Pharmacist | Seaford, Delaware

A specialized rehabilitation hospital seeks an experienced Pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and provide hands-on pharmacy management and dispensing services. This contract opportunity offers a chance to oversee daily pharmacy operations in a 36-bed facility focused on rehabilitative patient care.

Location: Seaford, DE

Schedule:

40 hours per week
Pharmacy hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage may be necessary

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as PIC with full accountability for pharmacy operations, including licensing and compliance
Provide direct pharmacy services, ensuring accurate medication dispensing and patient safety
Staff pharmacy for 40 hours weekly and oversee pharmacy technician staff per shift
Manage inventory, orders, and the use of the hospital pharmacy information system (Wellsky)
Utilize Pyxis automation system for medication dispensing and control
Prepare IV compounded sterile preparations (no chemotherapy involved)
Collaborate with healthcare teams to support medication therapy in a rehab hospital setting

Qualifications:

Licensed Pharmacist with PIC credentials or ability to obtain PIC status
Prior experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist in Charge preferred
Familiarity with IV compounding in a hospital environment
Knowledge of pharmacy automation systems such as Pyxis
Proficient in using pharmacy information systems like Wellsky
Strong leadership and communication skills to guide pharmacy staff and coordinate with clinical teams
