Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

With several openings available, you’ll work throughout Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head Island, covering the school year from August 3, 2026, to May 28, 2027, and providing 37.5 hours of essential communication support each week. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that Deaf and hard-of-hearing students have equitable access to educational content, classroom interactions, and extracurricular activities.

Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with a passion for supporting student success.
• A current EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
• Previous experience in educational or school settings is highly valued.
• Strong ability to interpret and facilitate clear communication between students, staff, and peers.
• Professional demeanor, punctuality, and reliability are essential for collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.

Role Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa in classroom and school activities.
• Adapt interpretation style based on student need, curriculum requirements, and specific situations.
