Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift Surgical ICU position requiring a CA RN license and 2+ years of ICU experience.

Details

Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting
1:2 patient ratio
Night shift, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
Weekend rotation required
Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

Active CA RN license required
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA or ARC)
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Skilled in IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, and blood product administration
Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, suctioning)
Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and administering continuous IV sedation/paralytics
Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and IV insulin protocols
Proficient in obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, managing assigned patients and directing ancillary staff
Collaborate with nursing peers, physicians, and allied support services to address patient and family needs
Local candidates accepted at a local rate within a 50-mile radius
Returning staff/travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
First-time travelers are not being considered for this role due to required prior travel experience
