Certified Surgical Tech

Provides assistance in delivering patient care during labor, delivery, and recovery. Performs surgical scrub duties and maintains acceptable levels of supplies. Provides turnover of patient areas. Assists in the operating room with obstetrics/gynecology related surgery. Assists with patient care before and after surgery. Assists in preparation of patient rooms. Opens sterile supplies and sets up procedures utilizing aseptic technique while checking the integrity of sterile packaging. Assists the surgical team during operative procedures by providing needed supplies and instruments in a timely manner. Participates in the timeout for each case. Assists nursing staff during deliveries as directed, including preparation, positioning, transportation, transfer, and discharge of patients. Collects urinalysis specimens. Applies fetal monitoring equipment. Records maternal vital signs, weight, height, and intake and output measurements. Performs personal care services and assists with activities of daily living for patients. Prepares, positions, transports, transfers, and discharges patients. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
