PAY RANGE $40-$70 Per hour

Guaranteed 60 hours per week

Company pays for flights, lodging, rental vehicle and per diem.

Regional Supplemental Services is seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Mill/Lathe Operator and Setup specialist for a travel-based role that offers dynamic opportunities in precision manufacturing. In this position, you will operate, set up, and potentially program CNC milling and lathe machines to produce complex metal/plastic components with exceptional accuracy. Your expertise in CNC programming(depending on the position), machine setup, and quality inspection will drive efficiency and excellence across multiple manufacturing sites. Duties

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines and lathes, including manual machining when necessary, ensuring optimal performance for each job.
• Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, Fanuc controls, and CAM software to produce parts according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure precise manufacturing.
• Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools to verify part quality.
• Perform machine calibration, tooling changes, and adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and high-quality output.
• Troubleshoot machining issues promptly, adjusting programs or setups as needed to optimize productivity.
• Maintain detailed documentation of setups, inspections, and production reports while adhering to lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and lathes with proficiency in CNC G-code programming and Fanuc controls.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
• Knowledge of machining tools, tooling setup, grinding processes, welding basics, and manual machining techniques.
• Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD for part design review and CAM programming for CNC machining processes.
• Ability to interpret GD&T specifications accurately to ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Mechanical knowledge with experience in metal machining, plastics injection molding support is a plus.
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments.
• Physical ability to handle power tools, hand tools, forklifts (certification preferred), and other manufacturing equipment safely.
• Willingness to travel between multiple manufacturing sites as required for setup support or process improvements.
