Inventory Clerk
Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support daily shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations. This position is responsible for receiving incoming materials, processing customer returns, maintaining accurate inventory records, pulling and packing customer orders, and preparing shipments for carrier pickup.The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, has strong attention to detail, and can accurately handle inventory, shipping documentation, and computer transactions. Essential Responsibilities

• Unpack, inspect, verify, and receive items from vendor purchase orders.
• Process customer returns accurately and in a timely manner.
• Receive and document incoming vendor shipments.
• Perform inventory control activities, including stock checks, cycle counts, material transfers, and inventory system transactions.
• Pull, pack, and ship customer orders.
• Package and label special orders according to customer and shipping requirements.
• Verify product quantities and shipping information before orders are transferred to the packing area.
• Unpack and process stock transfer shipments as needed.
• Verify incoming inventory quantities and place materials in the appropriate storage locations.
• Operate shipping software, computers, and scales to weigh packages and generate shipping labels.
• Prepare outgoing packages for pickup by contracted carriers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow written work instructions, customer-specific requirements, and established safety procedures.
• Accurately enter and verify inventory and shipping information.
• Perform other warehouse and shipping duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in packaging, warehousing, shipping, receiving, or material handling.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing warehouse environment preferred.
• Experience with inventory control and cycle counting preferred.
• SAP or other inventory management system experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills and ability to enter inventory and shipping information.
• Ability to accurately type, spell, and enter detailed information.
• Strong math skills for verifying product quantities and inventory.
• Ability to count and verify large-quantity orders accurately.
• Ability to determine appropriate packaging materials based on product and shipping requirements.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize daily responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Strong hand-eye coordination for packaging, labeling, and preparing shipments.
• Ability to safely handle products and customer orders without damage or injury.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
• Frequent use of hands and arms for lifting, carrying, reaching, pulling, and placing materials.
• Ability to lift and carry containers weighing up to 60 pounds .
• Frequent bending, stretching, and reaching to access inventory and supplies.
• Ability to safely use movable stairs or ladders to access elevated storage locations.
• Ability to safely operate carts and other equipment used to move materials.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a warehouse environment.

Work Environment

• Work is performed primarily in a clean, organized, and well-lit warehouse and shipping environment.
• Work areas include open storage racks, packing tables, computer terminals, and designated shipping areas.
• Carts are available for moving larger or heavier orders.
• Employees are expected to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
• Work may involve regular movement throughout the warehouse and interaction with inventory, shipping materials, and equipment.
