Warehouse Operations, Driver- Days (BHD)

DSV – Warehouse Operations Driver (Days) – full‑time position in USA (Hutto, TX). Dual role of commercial vehicle driver & warehouse operator with responsibility for local pick‑up & delivery and all in‑warehouse functions (shipping/receiving, picking, quality control, inventory, safety and maintenance). Responsibilities Operations Driver Maintain a neat, orderly storage lot focused on efficiency. Operate commercial vehicles within a 20‑air‑mile radius for freight pickup and delivery. Verify shipment bills before loading and perform weigh/dimension checks. Load and unload freight safely, segregating outbound freight and loading ULDs. Work daily with warehouse supervisors and comply with safety requirements. Provide professional customer interaction during pick‑ups/deliveries. Use proper Airline/Electric hookup and backing procedures. Follow all company policies, guidelines, and quality procedures. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Receiving / Put‑Away Use gas or electric forklifts/MHE to load outbound shipments, move and stack product efficiently. Maintain an organized work area. Order Picking Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring accuracy of quantity and type. Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards. Prepare freight for operations accurately and timely as required. Quality Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and damage‑free. Report quality variances. Delivery Move product from staging or storage to production lines or staging docks efficiently. Ensure proper documentation accompanies freight. Inventory and Safety Keep accurate records and reports to maintain tight inventory control and security. Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation. Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area and aid warehouse security. Comply with all SOPs, corporate and site policies, safety rules and OSHA/MSDS standards. Participate in safety meetings. Equipment Operation Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product using forklift, clamp truck, drum attachment or other power equipment. Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, orderly fashion. Inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklift or other equipment daily. Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods. Maintain an active forklift certification. Maintenance Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned. Other Duties Change forklift fuel tanks as needed. Repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays as requested. Help maintain a clean, safe work environment. Perform other duties as required. Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Minimum Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. At least 6 months experience in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment. Ability to operate MHE. Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program. Valid driver’s license. Ability to pass federal/state/local background checks, clearances, and drug/alcohol tests. Be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse. Basic computer skills; RF scanners and WMS functions. Knowledge of basic to intermediate mathematical calculations for inventory, shipping, and product handling. Strong attention to detail, ability to work with minimal supervision, and adaptability to change in a fast‑paced environment. Clean driving record; CDL or prior tractor yard experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years experience in a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment. 1–2 years forklift experience. Current or prior MHE certification. Physical Demands Occasionally: Handling/Fingering, Sitting. Frequently: Bending. Constantly: Walking and Standing. Ability to Lift/Carry and Push/Pull: 21–50 pounds. Reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel. Work Environment The employee is rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
