Description
- Conduct assessments for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standard evaluations and observational methodologies.
- Create individualized therapy plans tailored to address immediate and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Engage in direct speech therapy focused on communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop integrated care plans.
- Educate patients and their families, enabling them to support therapeutic progress outside the clinic.
- Occasionally participate in inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout each patient's journey.
- Uphold precise and timely records that adhere to all relevant state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Remain engaged with the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and peer networking.
Education
- Earned a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
- Necessary state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
