Job Details Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with acute care and stepdown patient care Location: Nashville, TN 37203 — centrally located near downtown Nashville healthcare jobs and local amenities Assignment Length: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,640 - $1,730 Charting System: Meditech Schedule Notes: Weekend shifts are required; experienced nurses may float after orientation Registered Nurse Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 1 year of acute care, telemetry, or stepdown nursing experience Strong time management, critical thinking, and clinical assessment skills Ability to provide safe, effective care in a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit environment BLS required; ACLS required for stepdown-focused assignments Comfort with bedside shift report, daily huddles, and patient-centered communication Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU patients with varying acuity levels Monitor patients closely, recognizing changes in condition and escalating concerns appropriately Manage common procedures and therapies such as chest tubes, lumbar punctures, high-flow oxygen, Vapotherm, BiPAP, and titrated cardiac drips as applicable Collaborate with the care team to support safe patient flow and unit efficiency Deliver clear bedside handoffs and contribute to a positive patient experience Adapt to both acute care and neuro stepdown needs while maintaining excellent clinical judgment Apply now for this Nashville travel nurse opportunity and join a team that values quality patient care, collaboration, and clinical excellence.
