Assistant Meat/Seafood Manager

Overview Assistant Meat & Seafood Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market. This role leads the meat and seafood department, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient merchandising, and productive team management. Responsibilities Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit. Oversee ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and supervise the Meat & Seafood team. Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal‑setting, communication, and teamwork. Participate in hiring, teaching, training, and developing team members. Apply weekly ad items, inventory, and ordering knowledge while enforcing department practices such as “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4.” Unload and sort incoming store deliveries; operate and maintain meat & seafood equipment. Ensure compliance with all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and verify that team members follow these procedures. Qualifications Minimum 18 years old with basic math, weights, and measures; at least 2 years of professional experience, proven leadership, and 2–3 years in grocery retail meat operations (preferred). Dependable, reliable, and capable of performing related duties as assigned. Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, and strong customer interaction skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Good communication skills; able to take direction and collaborate in a team environment. Perform general housekeeping: clean and sanitize work area, including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, and freezer. Adhere to safety, health, and Weights & Measures regulations and company recipes. Stand continuously for up to 4 hours and work complete shifts of 8 hours; walk up to 2 miles per shift. Work within temperature‑controlled areas and maintain cleanliness. Good vision required for handling sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer. Lift/carry products weighing 25–90 lbs. horizontally/vertically, distance up to 10 feet for 20 hours. Operate a pallet jack to move up to 500 lbs. horizontally, requiring up to 85 lbs. of force over 100 feet for up to 5 hours. Move racks of products up to 70 lbs. requiring up to 25 lbs. of force over 50 feet for up to 10 hours. Move tables up to 70 lbs. requiring more than 35 lbs. of force over 2 feet for up to 1 hour. Pay Range The pay range for this position is $18.55 – $27.75 per hour, based on applicable experience and qualifications.
