Base pay range $95,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Dexian Schedule: On-site Monday–Thursday; Work-from-home Fridays Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive, business-minded Property Accountant to join our growing upstream oil & gas company. This is not a traditional heads-down, back-office accounting role. The ideal candidate will bring an operational mindset, an ability to connect the dots, and a deep understanding of how accounting activities impact the broader business. This position is intended as a stepping-stone into leadership. Within 1–3 years, the selected candidate is expected to transition into a management role, ultimately taking over leadership of this accounting group. Key Responsibilities: This role is responsible for property accounting functions in alignment with internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, including but not limited to: Performing property accounting functions with a focus on upstream oil & gas operations Tracking and recording fuel transfers and usage on offshore vessels Maintaining and updating the Asset Retirement Obligations schedule, including liabilities from defaulted working interest partners or successors in interest Calculating and recording monthly depletion, depreciation, and amortization (“DD&A”) for oil and gas properties Conducting quarterly Ceiling Tests to assess potential impairments Preparing and maintaining multiple account reconciliations Executing and revising SOX controls as needed Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum 3 years of property accounting experience, preferably in upstream oil & gas Strong working knowledge of operational and regulatory accounting practices Business-oriented mindset with the ability to assess the broader operational impact of accounting decisions Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Proactive communication and collaboration style; able to build strong relationships across teams Effective organization and prioritization skills in a dynamic environment High level of integrity and sound judgment, particularly in handling sensitive or ethical matters Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and manage time-sensitive deliverables Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with BOLO accounting system is preferred Certificates & Licenses: No certifications or licenses are required for this position. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive motion tasks with hands and arms. Occasional standing and walking are also required.
