Operations Manager

The Operations Manager leads the production department and their efforts in the safe and cost-effective operation. Responsible for facilitating, directing and controlling as appropriate, all aspects of the production operation to ensure achievement of company goals and objectives. Ensure that the plant is operating in compliance with all regulatory and company policies, procedures, and regulations. Responsibilities Plan, organize and direct the Manufacturing department Plan, direct production activities & establish production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors In conjunction with Production Supervisors, coordinate and supervise the daily, weekly, and monthly activities of Production Work with other functional leaders (internal to plant and corporate) to develop & implement plans to efficiently use materials, labor & equipment to meet production targets Organize/facilitate production shutdown/start-up for maintenance purposes Achieve project or departmental objectives within agreed time, cost, & quality parameters Along with Safety Rep for the plant and Corporate Safety Director, responsible for the safe operation of the production area ensuring the staff is properly trained on the company\'s safety policies, practices, and procedures Identify/resolve safety concerns or issues, including accident/incident reporting, investigation and resolution Ensure that manufacturing team members are properly trained, responsible for their safety, the safety of their team members and the quality of our production Develop & deliver Manufacturing Cost Savings plans to achieve annual savings goals Provide full cycle performance management support for direct reports Ensure Production Dept has the appropriate training and coverage.
